Oyewole Adeyeye, Ekiti Chief Judge Passes On At 64

Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye has passed away at the age of 64.


According to sources in the judiciary, Justice Adeyeye passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a tertiary hospital in Ekiti after a short illness, but said the information is still been kept from the public pending the time it is announced officially.


However, the Association of International Female Lawyers (FIDA), has sent condolences to the family.


“With deep sorrow in our hearts and in total submission to the will of God, FIDA Ekiti consoles with the family of the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon Justice Oyewole Adeyeye on his call to glory,” the condolence message read.


“May He find rest with his maker. I pray that God grants the family, the Judiciary and the people of Ekiti State, the grace to bear this irreparable loss. Adieu great one.”


He was sworn in as a Chief Judge on October 11 2021 by former Governor Kayode Fayemi. 


The Chief Judge was born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi in Ekiti East Local Government of Ekiti State and called to bar in 1986.


He was elevated to the position of a judge in the Ekiti State High Court in 2002 and has served at different times in the election petition tribunals.


He started his career as a State counsel in the Civil service of the old Ondo State before joining the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission shortly after the creation of the State in 1996.
